Trieste Maker Faire is happening 10-11 May and is organised by the International Center for Theoretical Physics SciFabLab - where I am sitting as I write this! The Call for Makers is now live:
I’m planning an exhibit of open hardware for biology with my research group at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, we will join the Science Picnic Village at the Maker Faire.
If you would like to send us something to exhibit, get in touch, but you could also come to beautiful Trieste yourself!
Note from the website:
The ICTP is offering free accommodation at the campus guesthouses to the makers coming from outside Trieste . The availability of rooms in limited, so we invite you to send your applications as soon as possible.
Do apply via the website and respond here so we can coordinate a great exhibit of open science hardware
Looks like a beautiful city. I’d love to go but my calendar in May is already too intense.
It would be great to see if you could get an OpenFlexure Microscope into the Maker Faire. I’m sure we can find a way to get you the bits, especially now we have the vendor network from Open Science Shop.
Do you have an OpenFlexure in your lab? I notice that Italy is conspicuously grey in the map of people telling is they are building/using OpenFlexure:
