I am a freelance researcher and open technology consultant. I spent about a decade in academic research designing precision scientific instrumentation. For five years I was on the core team of the OpenFlexure Microscope project at the University of Bath, and I still try to stay involved.

Within the Open Hardware community my work is focussed primarily on the workflows and documentation that enable remote collaboration and quality managed design. A core part of this is the development of GitBuilding a software package for hardware documentation.
