Hi All
We are seeking reviewers for the Gathering for Open Science Hardware (GOSH) Events Funding program that was just announced on the forum with a deadline of 15 Feb 2023.
SUMMARY OF THE PROGRAM
The Gathering for Open Science Hardware (GOSH) Events Funding program is for groups that want to host an event, workshop, conference, or get-together aimed at supporting open science hardware. In 2023, we are funding events that have a clear focus on promoting or advancing open science hardware within a specific discipline including (but not limited to) the following:
- Space science
- Imaging
- Neuroscience
- Microscopy
- Conservation technology
- Oceanography
- Chemistry
- Science and Technology Studies
REVIEW PROCESS
Proposals will be reviewed by the GOSH Event Funding Working Group, formed under an open call published on the GOSH forum. This group of 3 to 7 volunteers (which will include at least one Community Council member) will be selected by the call organizers and will select projects based on the program’s eligibility and evaluation criteria.
If a member of this review panel has a conflict of interest with an application, they will recuse themselves from reviewing the said application.
REVIEWER ELIGIBILITY
The only eligibility criteria is that reviewers should be active in the broad open science hardware community, in order to evaluate the potential impact of the event proposals on that community.
You do not need to have a prior affiliation with the Gathering for Open Science Hardware or expertise in a specific discipline.
REVIEWER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review assigned applications between 16 Feb and 23 Feb 2023
- Take part in a review meeting and a debriefing meeting with the working group (timing TBC)
- [optional] Participate in a debrief and review of reporting materials after the program has ended (late June 2023)
APPLY TO JOIN THE WORKING GROUP AS A REVIEWER
If you would be interested to join the working group as a reviewer, please post in this thread or email admin@openhardware.science by 31 January 2023 with your name, affiliation (if applicable), email address and 3-4 sentences on your relevant experience with open science hardware.
Thanks very much!
Jenny
