oh my goshes,
I’m putting in for the astera residency. I’m curious if anyone else is also applying, and would be up for having a one-on-one sesh to swap feedback/critiques of our applications.

Hi!
I’d be very interested to hear about your proposal! Also to prepare for possible future applications.
Just checked out their page, pretty cool stuff! I didn’t plan to apply and likely won’t, as I haven’t even heard about it before, but their incentive about data science made me really curious!
Best regards,
Lars
It is worth noting for those who can’t relocate to the USA that there is now a form on the Astera website to register interest in the program despite not being able to relocate so they can gauge interest in a remote cohort:
I applied last term and got to the end but no dice. At that time, they have a focus on things that enhance publishability more than just general purpose open science (though that may have changed). You don’t have to move, but you do have to be willing to be out there in SF/Oakland four times a year for a while.
Yeah so i had looked into it and it sounded like OMG amazing and what a budget, but then I contacted them and they specified the whole thing is just about publishability stuff, which, cool, but yeah not something i’m really personally into or skilled at. But yeah maybe they are different now?
Ah so looking at it now, it does appear that this is different than before and they want open science projects? if so, super cool! i hope you rock it @alex9000 !
