Hi all!
Some of us in Argentina want to replicate this: GitHub - 0x23/MicroManipulatorStepper: A sub-micrometer 3D motion control plattform.
It is somewhat similar in function to the motorized flexure on the OFM, with totally different mechanics and few extra perks.
We will work on it at some point this year, and would like to partner with interested gosh folk to source the parts.

We did some work on manipulators some time ago. Not so fancy though… Feel free to remix.

We’ve started sourcing the important bits for a few kits, including the two custom PCBs.
Note that we will be making v4 of the stage, which is only partially documented at the moment. PM me if someone wants to join in.

The process went well with minor injuries. Several capacitors, presumably from a bad batch, exploded on us while populating the driver PCB, adding adrenaline to the experience.
Some parts are rather difficult to source. If someone wants to join the fun, let us know.

in case you need some DVD stepper and laser parts I have a bunch I collected for exactly this kind of work.

Awesome might give those a try for an even more DIY build. I wonder it the steppers inside have enough poles, or the the leadscrew reduction is sufficient to get good global resolution.
