Successful Cases of Event Funding Outside the USA

Hello, Comunity!

We are a Colombian Academic Institution intersted in hosting a Open Science event durng next year, funded by GOSH. In this vein We would like to know, considering other’s experiences, what are the most relevant aspects to develop a Regional Event? How can we get aligned with the GOSH Code of Conduct and Manifesto?

Hi @CRISBELMONT, and welcome!

My name is Bri, and I am the community coordinator for the GOSH Community. Feel free to reach out to me via email or private message if you ever have questions about the community

I recommend reading our Community Events Framework, which documents how to run a GOSH-style event, from global Gatherings to regional events. We also have a list of regional events funded by GOSH which you can check out here if you would like an idea of how some of these events are organized.

I would also suggest checking out Rede Latino Americana de Tecnologias Livres (REGOSH), they’ve been hosting open science hardware events and residencies in Latin America for a few years now.

If you haven’t yet, you should definitely sign our manifesto and read our Code of Conduct too.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
-Bri
