Hey all,
Our friends at OSHWA reached out to invite us to participate in a show and tell session they are organizing October 10-11, as an opportunity for folks to show off their “good slop”.
In their words, this means they are “looking for your work-in-progress projects, things that are maybe a little silly, projects you have invested time into that not a ton of people will understand why, passion projects, side quests, anything that really took you down a path you didn’t expect, projects that use bioplastics, goop, mycelium, slime, or any other strangely viscous substance!” I’ll share the full call below this post.
They are coordinating this as a 24-hour live-streamed event (!), kicking off at 12:00 UTC on October 10 and running through 12:00 UTC. Slots can run 20-40 min, and presentations can be pitched here.
Here’s the text of the full call:
"We are running a 24-hour membership drive that will pull on people and organizations in our community to show off their work, workspace, and why open source hardware is important to them. We want to show all the incredible ways that OSHW exists out there, and all the incredible people who make that happen.
We are planning this as a 24-hour livestream where we can have people sign up for 20-40 minute slots starting October 10th at 8am EST to October 11th at 8am EST. It will be broadcast on our YouTube channel which can gain up to 3k+ views.
Our 2026 theme is Good Slop! This means we are looking for your work-in-progress projects, things that are maybe a little silly, projects you have invested time into that not a ton of people will understand why, passion projects, side quests, anything that really took you down a path you didn’t expect, projects that use bioplastics, goop, mycelium, slime, or any other strangely viscous substance!
Above all else projects that are 100% human made!
If you don’t have a slop project and instead a beautiful piece of lovely open hardware we also want to see those too!
To streamline gathering interest please fill out this form.
We have 70 slots to fill which is a pretty huge thing so we’re really looking forward to seeing how many people we can fit in. Post livestream all segments will be put on YouTube as a playlist for people to watch later as well."
