Hello Open Science Hardware Community,
I’m reaching out to seek your support for Bani Ibouraïma Djegouma, a talented Master’s student at the Polytechnic School of Abomey-Calavi (EPAC) in Benin. As an orphan, Bani has overcome incredible challenges to pursue his passion for biochemistry and health genetics research.
He is working on his Master’s thesis, but his progress has been halted due to a lack of funding to acquire a crucial reagent, PCSK9, which costs 450,000 CFA francs (~€690/USD 750). This reagent is vital for his research on critical health issues in his region.
We are seeking the OSH community’s help in any way possible:
- Providing the PCSK9 reagent (or a similar open-access alternative).
- Connecting with labs or suppliers who may donate or offer the reagent at a reduced cost.
- Financial support to help him purchase the materials needed to continue his work.
This is an opportunity to support open science in Africa and contribute directly to advancing local research that could have a significant health impact.
Bani’s research protocol and budget details are available for review. If you or anyone in your network can help, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Thank you for helping a young researcher break barriers and progress in his scientific journey. Together, we can make a difference!
