Robot News: Open Source Robotics Alliance

For folks who are interested in open source organization and infrastructure, a new thing formed to support ROS and stuff

We just launched the Open Source Robotics Alliance, which is a new organization created to better fund and govern our open source projects (ROS, Gazebo, Open-RMF, and the infrastructure that runs them).

We’ve moved away from a BDFL model of governance towards something similar to the model used by the Linux Foundation. With any luck, this change will support ROS and Gazebo development for the years to come. If you want more of the details of the organizational structure and funding, details are here:
