I saw this and thought it might be of interest to GOSHers!
OpenSeneca’s OpenScience Opportunity
OpenSeneca has announced an exciting opportunity for organisations, researchers, and educators to acquire air quality sensors for environmental monitoring and education.
The sensors are versatile and ideal for a wide range of applications, including urban air quality studies, educational programs, community science initiatives, and broader environmental research. OpenSeneca hopes to see these valuable tools continue their mission of promoting environmental awareness and action.
For more information about this opportunity, visit open-seneca.org.
Been setting up this air quality sensor here a year ago… still the only one in the city. But this project has been going on for many years, maybe a bit german centric… https://sensor.community
Used to be Luftdaten.info
it’s super easy to build yourself and directly install on an ESP through the browser. using the same Sensirion sensor, not sooo cheap, but we got sponsored from them a few times in Zurich, as their companiy is just around the corner.
I like the idea,
from their website (opensenica) on the contact form."We have unfortunately run out of funding, but we are nonetheless happy to hear from you
I am struggling to find where to buy one, or how to build one. Their github has some assembly of the kit, and some firmware, but no design files for the circuitboard / bom / case etc.
hopefully they get more funding, to make more of these available, and opensource the device.
If you’re interested, I would try messaging anyway because this came out as a live opportunity on the same day I posted, via the newsletter of a programme we are both part of for social enterprises.
