Hi everyone, I need clarifications on these two bodies. Is the Open Source Hardware Association (OSHWA) the same organization with the Gathering for Open Science Hardware (GOSH) or they are different organizations working together. Thanks.
OSHWA is a separate organization and has been around for a long time (before GOSH). They focus more on general open hardware and do things like organizing the Open Hardware Summit and certifying open hardware.
GOSH is focused on open science hardware.
So their missions are complimentary, and I believe there has been some collaboration between the orgs, but someone in leadership here at GOSH will know better on that.
Thank you @jmwright
A little more context @Jay_ozone: OSHWA is a US-based non-profit aiming to be a hub for everything OSH. They organize the popular OSH Summit and also provide OSH certification.
GOSH is a global movement/community working to reduce barriers between creators, designers and users of scientific tools. GOSH is not a registered legal entity. Find more about us here Roadmap. or contact the community coordinator @jamaica
OSHWA and GOSH missions are complementary, many of us associate with both organizations. We “cross-pollinate”

Thanks a lot everyone, there is a lot more clarity now.
Thanks for asking @Jay_ozone and to the responders. Just noting that OSHWA created the Open Source Hardware Definition:

And here’s their website:
