Open Hardware Filter Wheel - suggestions? Bonus points for parametric

Hi All

I’m looking for a simple filter wheel that can be used in a rig for imaging expression of fluorescent proteins. So far I found the following which is a front-runner but it is quite large…it is parametric inc number of positions, so probably we can make it more compact:

Parametric Automated Filter Wheel Changer (8 filters)
Zhang C, Anzalone NC, Faria RP, Pearce JM (2013) Open-Source 3D-Printable Optics Equipment. PLoS ONE 8(3): e59840.

There are also quite a few options on thingiverse, many from the astronomy community and a filter selector from RamanPi (that one is quite far from what we need but the wheel part could be redesigned):

Before we get started buying things, just checking if GOSHers have a preferred design that has worked nicely for them? Ideally parametric but if fixed, we want to use 25mm dia filters.

Grateful for any advice!

Jenny

Hi Jenny

That one is really nice - but I am biased —very curious to see how far down you can push it size.

Hi Jenny,

I have something similar but if you give me the specs I can do it as I’m quite fast with these things.

Cheers,
Adrian
