Sharing the meeting notes from this week’s governance meeting below.
Governance WG Meeting #21 - Tues May 11th at 13:00 UTC
People in call: Bri, Marina, Jenny and gunner
Agenda:
- Focus on structure for town halls
- Get them on calender, 2 town halls
- Thursday at 10:00 UTC, Tuesday 18:00 UTC
- Mandatory? It is an expectation that they participate on at least one, but can do two, will be recorded
- Potentially cut out candidate statements in video and share them on the forum.
- What questions are we asking them? Simple and good: they make a one-minute statement, say whatever they want, welcome to repeat their statement, welcome to focus on their statement. Then the rest will be Q&A driven (45 minutes).
- Work together asynchronously to plan out community meetings
- Determine the most sustainable way to do Q&A
- Figure out roles
- Determine date/times for town halls based on candidates’ time zones.

- Get this on the GOSH calendar and reach out to candidates
- Timeline updates – registration moved back 3 days to 20th, voter eligibility will be done on a rolling basis.
- 20 May – Voter registration closes 23:59 UTC (8 pm ET)
- 21 May – Voting starts [move to give two weekends for voting]
- 31 May – Voting closes 23:59 UTC (8 pm ET)
- 2 June – Community Council announced
For Next Meeting:
- Planning handoff meetings to the community council and make sure they are on our calendars.
- Any final planning for the community meetings.
Action Items Before Next Meeting:
- Discuss roles and planning for community meetings asynchronously.
- Reach out to other open communities about the format of their community meetings.
- Get community meetings on the GOSH calendar and inform candidates of the community meetings in advance.
