Klaus Töpfer Sustainability Fellowship at RIFS Potsdam, Germany

Until July 2nd 2023 you can apply for the prestigious Klaus Töpfer Sustainability Fellowship 2024 at Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) in Potsdam - right next to Berlin: Click here for details.

Compared with other RIFS fellowships the Klaus Töpfer Sustainability Fellowship is RIFS’ “flagship fellowship” for experienced and mid-career researchers, policy and change makers from business and civil society. It comes with 50’000 € for traveling expenses, publications, events etc. dedicated to the respective topic.

RIFS’ work is dedicated to show viable paths to socioecological transformation and its research groups therefore worked e.g. about systemic risks, methodologies for co-creation and technological change. One might therefore think about a suitable “meta-topics” of Open (Science) Hardware, that would be overlapping with such (for instance commons-based peer-production for sustainability, energy and hardware transitions for sustainable production and circular economy, engagement models for stakeholders of open hardware etc. - but be creative, there might be a lot more).

Since this year RIFS is part of the Helmholtz Association and GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, close to Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research PIK and has thereby even expanded its multidisciplinary expertise.
