Hello everyone!
I studied electronic engineering and did my phD in air quality. Currently, I work as a physics teacher at FCEN-UNCuyo. I develop libre technology for teaching science, mostly physics. Why? Because proprietary lab instruments impose restrictions on the experiments we can do, the data we obtain, the way we deal with the data, and more important, the questions we can ask. We need more flexibility and freedom to adapt those instruments to our needs.
By now we have developed a set of instruments that cover all the topics in the first course of physics. All the documentation can be found here.
During this gosh residence in Porto Alegre we are working on a new web based platform to interact with the physics instruments. See our progress/contribute here.

Estudié electrónica y luego hice mi doctorado en ingeniería, específicamente en calidad de aire. Actualmente trabajo como profesor de física en FCEN-UNCuyo. Desarrollo tecnología libre para enseñanza de ciencias. ¿Por qué? porque los equipos propietarios de laboratorio imponen restricciones sobre los experimentos que podemos realizar, los datos que podemos obtener, la presentación de dichos datos, y sobre todo, sobre las preguntas que nos podemos hacer. Necesitamos más flexibilidad y libertad para adaptar esos instrumentos a nuestra necesidad.
Ahora tenemos un set de instrumentos que cubren todos los temas del primer curso de física universitaria. Toda la documentación pueden encontrarla aquí.
Durante esta residencia gosh en Porto Alegre estamos trabajando en el desarrollo de una plataforma web para interactuar con los instrumentos. Pueden seguir nuestro progreso/colaborar aquí.
