Independent Observer Thread for the 2025 GOSH Community Council Elections

Hi everyone!

I would like to introduce Mr. Michael Ampah Yeboah (@Ampah), Operations Manager at Kumasi Hive, who is serving as the independent observer for the 2025 GOSH community council election. The election secretary and independent observer will be working together frequently throughout the election process, therefore Michael and I will use this thread on the forum to talk publicly regarding the election. This will also serve as a space for reporting if needed.

I will continue to update this thread throughout the election, to which Michael will respond with questions, concerns, or a simple yes or no.

I will also send Michael detailed notes from governance working group meetings so that he can raise any questions or concerns regarding what we have planned.

What Have We Discussed Already?

I have already sent Michael the 2025 Governance Plan, as well as some more detailed information regarding the way in which he and I will be working together. Early next week, we’ll meet to discuss the workflow for determining voter & candidate eligibility.

Michael - welcome, and thank you for your service in support of the GOSH 2025 Community Council Elections.

Kind regards,
Jamaica

Hello all!

I am writing with an update on the Elections broadly and my work with @Ampah more specifically.

Towards the former, I have completed confirming eligibility for all voter registrations and candidate nominations that we have received as of this morning. I have done so by following the Verification Protocol, and have kept Michael apprised of my process and decision-making.

As for my work with Michael, we have a meeting set up next week to review upcoming stages in the election (including confirmation of candidates, which will happen next week as well, and the start of voting, which begins July 24). We have thus far been communicating primarily through email - we’ll meet virtually on key dates to review important next steps and will report back here when we do.

Michael, please feel free to add any observations that you would like to share. On behalf of the GOSH community, thank you again for serving as our Independent Observer!

Cheers,
Jamaica
