Please see this post for details on the second call on July 16th at 14:00 UTC!
Dear GOSH Community,
I would like to announce that on Friday, June 28th, at 14:00 UTC, we will host a community call regarding the GOSH Constitution.
As you may have seen, we now have a draft Constitution that is open for community review and feedback. The purpose of this community call is to provide an open forum for GOSH community members to join, voice their input on the draft Constitution, and ask questions.
The call will be hosted by @hpy and @lizbarry, who have done a fantastic job leading this initiative forward.
This is a reminder that in two hours, we will be hosting a community call to discuss the recent draft Constitution that is open for community review and feedback.
One key takeaway/todo item for tweaks is to make sure that the Constitution is not written in a way that assumes and relies on the existence of a GOSH Community Coordinator, so as to not cause a constitutional crisis.
The question I was struggling to get out last night was something like this: Do you think or have you considered, that if infrastructure is provided to support administration (let’s call it) , then the administration work load will grow to fill the capacity to do it. There may be a term for this phenomenon. I hear this is what is happening in US universities; certainly in Singapore the universities have become more bureaucratically bound.
Another question I asked didn’t come out right, maybe I can rephrase it here. It was not about the length of the constitution draft that I was referring to, but the size of the structures and procedures it describes: do you think the heft and number of these structures/procedures is appropriate for our organisation? Again, not a comment on the heft or number, but on your thoughts on the subject.
Thanks again, and again, great to see you all again again.
I would like to let you all know that there will be another community call to discuss the GOSH Constitution, happening on July 16th at 14:00 UTC.
