Donate today to support an equitable, diverse and accessible GOSH 2018!

Dear All

As you’re aware, the Gathering for Open Science Hardware serves the needs of the Global Open Science Hardware community through convening meetings, publications, activities and providing a forum for the community. GOSH 2018 is taking place 10-13 Oct in Shenzhen, China with the theme of ‘scaling hardware, growing community’.

We are currently finalising the GOSH 2018 participant list of over 100 people accepted from 300 applications. Acceptance to GOSH is not based on ability to pay and access to travel support is essential for many participants due to the unique demographics of GOSH including substantial participation from Africa, Asia, Latin America, not-for-profit groups, artists and others with limited institutional funding. We have disbursed $70k already (with great thanks to Alfred P Sloan Foundation, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, PLOS and HardwareX) but this was insufficient and further travel stipends are important for convening the diverse voices that we know the community would like to see at the Gathering.

Donate today to support an equitable, diverse and accessible GOSH 2018!

We have set up a way to donate to GOSH and welcome contributions of any amount and from all supporters of the GOSH community. Your donation will help to provide much needed support for people who otherwise couldn’t afford travel to Shenzhen.

Please donate here and share with friends and colleagues who share the GOSH vision:
